41 episodes left, so about 20 weeks left of this season

Take note of the time-space artifact, it will play a major factor Tan Yun crafts better and better ones later on as he improves his strength and manages to obtain better materials, it will become a prison place of cultivation for his wives and friends for most of their lives

Anyway for those interested in Wu Geng Ji, the second part of season 4, 18 episode trailer, from the same studio that produces Soul Land and Swallowed Star

Wu geng Ji I will try it, I watched like some 13 or 14 episodes of the 1st seoson and then my heart couldn't take it anymore. But I have to catch up. Probably pretty good.

Yeeaaah... like Doupo Cangqiong, every time they start a new season, the studio seem to skip a few events in between. Of course the worse bit is that season 1's CG is pretty old compared with what we have now.

I also wasn't feeling the story. Maybe its because I prefer watching cultivation donghuas that has cultivation levels. From what I know. Wu geng ji has no cultivation stuff. The mc just uses runes or so to fight so I got bored.

Are you sure number is like that? Not doubting, it is just that I was confused about this for some time.

S1 of this animation is like Wu Shen Zhu Zai S1. This one had 60 originally and Wu Shen Zhu Zai 160. Then this number changed 2 or 3 times and both animations run continuously

It's fine to doubt, I am not always right lol
Yeah sometimes the studios add more episodes like Peerless Martial Spirit, there was no indication that it would end at episode 160 then it just continued. None of my sources said it would have a continuation but here we are with 192 episodes. Oh Tencent streaming now says 260 episodes lol

While this donghua, on Tencent streaming it says 更新至119集 全160集 So it means (for those that cant read Chinese) up to episode 119, total of episodes 160
Douban also stated 160 episodes, so we will have 41 episodes left, and this donghua is released twice a week so about 20 weeks left. When I checked the studio it doesnt say anything about the next season. I hope it does continue on, because the novel is so long

I’m surprised that you’re not watching WANMEI SHIJIE…

Seeing what you wrote, my gut said that this is probably just number of currently available and delivered episodes that they are sure they can air, but they keep fingers crossed that makers will deliver next content on time to air without break.

Here are few reasons. Season stops making sense once airing is longer than 1 year (and Wu Shen Zhu Zai is now airing for 2.25 years without break and 2 episodes per week). These are low cost animations (low end graphics, limited or barely any effects, barely any facial animations, very few original actions, limited animations where it is obvious that 80% of actions used generic animation and not custom action mocap), not to mention you can see same character over different animations which just by lazy look tells that makers are one and the same. Also, making them is very fast and sadly sound is probably taking most of the work.

Another thing that puzzles me is 2 per week in case of some animations. It really doesn't make sense in some cases like Jiandao Di Yi Xian where it states S1 is 20 episodes only. It doesn't make sense from marketing point. You don't rush content to make season break longer as you drop popularity with that. I'm really hoping that number for that one will change as well as it would suck if it ended exactly at the point where it is finally finished with boring intro and story skyrockets after that to the point of being one of the best martial arts stories. Oversight like that is simply inconceivable from marketing standpoint. It is like "We want to kill this animation, we just started it for fun and to waste time of everyone... including ours"

A lot of time we would assume that it really depends on the studios, but personally I feel that the biggest factor in determining how much episodes is produced is determined by Chinese censorship. So regardless of what the studio wants or marketing strategy, Chinese censorship will often throw the studio's planning out of whack.

Another factor I would think is the funding. For example Juan Siliang was supposed to have more episodes but due to the amount of cost in producing each episode they were forced to cut down on the number of episodes as a result they only produced 15 episodes

So Jiandao Di Yi Xian might be say originally planned for 24 episodes or 26 episodes. But because of Chinese censorship it is reduced to 20 episodes and because of financial limitation and or whatever the reason that stopped them from producing more episodes and registering new episodes with the Chinese censorship board it is stuck with 20 episodes.

Imma assuming he's on the mountain that was set up for him?
